Anonymous 03/28/16(Mon)14:33:04 I think sharethreads would be much better if we split sharethreads and request threads into two separate entities. Not to be one of those people to claim 'spoonfeeding' at every opportunity but I reckon a majority use sharethreads to find and listen to music rather than find a download, and it really starts to shit up the threads when they spiral into 'give me this album in this quality' etc.
I think it would be a lot more productive if it was just dedicated to one or the other. Just my two cents. As recently Skeleton has removed all but 3 of his albums from his bandcamp. While many can be found on youtube, it's a damn shame that they've been removed because the man seems to be a perfectionist and there are a lot of really, really good releases in here. If you hate or never got vaporwave, Skeleton changed my mind about the genre when I was first listening. His stuff tends to be a bit spookier and more ambient than most early vaporwave, but is also leagues ahead of most of the other early stuff, and even some current stuff. Recommended cuts: Self Titled, Holograms and Safe (Safe really grows on you over time). File: (64 KB, 500x484) V.A.
Sex Symbols(2011) Traditional Pop, Vocal Jazz, Grandpacore. File: (1.3 MB, 423x1276) The Inmost Light Trilogy by Current 93: Sort of musical sandwich in which the bread are two EPs that consist of one 20 min long dark-ambiance-heavy tracks. Lovely and very well crafted, they ooze the kind of tense horror that so many musicians have trouble translating to sound.
The LP itself is the epitome of neofolk and one of the finest examples of what the genre can do, besides going for the schizophrenic-catholic-mass factor. Ambient and post-industrial passages juxtaposed with Cashmore's gentle, immersive strumming, some of the most poignant lyrics and vocals by a David Tibet right at the top of his game.

1995- Where The Long Shadows Fall (BeforeTheInmostLight): A looped sample of the only recording of a castrato ever made (he was like 45 at the time), upon which wailing low organ-like sounds fade in and out, punctuated by bells and sounds that would become identifiable throughout the trilogy. David, in very tired, droning voice reads out his trademark faith-crisis-faith poetry. 1996- All The Pretty Little Horses: I'm definitely torn between this one, Of Ruine Or Some Blazing Starre and Thunder Perfect Mind as the perfect neofolk/apocalyptic folk album, though around this time C93 was working hard with leitmotifs and references to previous works, as if hinting at a continuity. Deep lyrics which go from ecstatic gladness of being to dark-night-of-the-soul-esque material concerning faith (lost and found) and the personal relationship between man and God.
1996- The Starres Are Marching Sadly Home (Theinmostlightthirdandfinal): An even darker ambient piece which seems to point more towards a nautical theme (think of a light version of NWW's Salt Marie Celeste with drowsy chanted poetry on top of it). It continues the lyrical reference game of the previous EP, and even closes with a line from the traditional lullaby that names the main LP, sung by none other than Shirley Collins. The Durutti Column are, according to their Wiki (I have no idea, I just got into them a couple of weeks ago through some weird internet K-hole) from England, and they revolve around one central member, Vini Reilly, who apparently was/is bros with Ian Curtis and Morrissey. For such a cohesive, simple-sounding album, LC brings some seemingly disparate artists and genres to mind - early Cure (esp. ), Paul Simon, and a little krautrock, maybe? Lots of low-key instrumentals, echoing guitars, simple drumming, piano. Pretty charming stuff.
This reissue has twenty-three bonus tracks following the original ten, and they're great, so I'm including 'em. Track listing: -Disc One- 1. Sketch for Dawn 1 2. Portrait for Frazer 3.
